Premier League 2016/17 – Tactical Warfare

No sooner has the ticker tape cleared from Leicester’s title celebrations, and already some Premier League sides are back in training. With new managers and new players arriving en masse to test themselves in England, it promises to be another exciting year.
Let’s check out the teams battling for the title, and the coaches responsible for their success.

Manchester City & Pep Guardiola

The most in-demand coach in world football takes over one of the world’s richest clubs. It seems like a match made in heaven, but can Guardiola work his magic in an extremely competitive league?

Manchester United & Jose Mourinho

The Special One takes over at the Theatre of Dreams, and it looks as if he will bring Manchester United back to the top given the high-profile signings that he has been able to acquire. Mourinho has a good record in his first year at the clubs he has managed. He will look to keep that run going at Old Trafford.

Arsenal & Arsene Wenger

The Frenchman is under huge pressure to deliver a trophy given that the Gunners spurned their greatest chance to win the Premier League last year. They have added classy midfielder Granit Xhaka to their squad, but will they be able to compete given the bigger budgets of the Manchester clubs?

Chelsea & Antonio Conte

After a horrific season last year, Chelsea can only improve. They seem to have the right man for the job in Antonio Conte. He worked wonders in Euro 2016 with a limited Italian side, so he stands a good chance of bringing silverware back to Stamford Bridge given the money he will have at his disposal.

Tottenham & Mauricio Pochettino

Spurs came so close to an unbelievable title victory but fell at the final hurdle. With a strong backbone of young English players and a great young manager, they look good for the future.

Leicester City & Claudio Ranieri claudio ranieri leicester city
The most unlikely Premier League champions we have ever had, but will we ever see it again? It’s extremely important for Leicester to keep their star players in Kante and Mahrez, and with Ranieri working his magic, they may be able to repeat the trick again.
